RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2009. Over the week of September 21 – September 25, 2009, the RTS Index went down by 1.63% to reach 1,225.29 points (1,245.56 points as of September 18, 2009). Most of the negative impact on the Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) (minus 8.66 points), ordinary shares of Surgutneftegas (SNGS) (minus 8.37 points) and Gazprom ordinary shares (minus 6.78 points).

The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase closing at 1,188.64 points (3.22% up against 1,151.61 points as of September 18, 2009). Last week key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a multidirectional trend. The largest decline was reported by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Index – Oil & Gas going down by 3.85%. A significant decrease was also registered in the telecom sector, with the corresponding index losing 1.63%. A solid growth was demonstrated by the power sector, with the RTS Index – Electric Utilities gaining 4.73%.

For the last week the US dollar lost 1.05% against the RF rouble to reach 30.07 roubles per US dollar (30.39 as of September 18, 2009).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week September 21 – September 25, 2009 equaled USD9.7 billion (293.3 billion roubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD1,460.19 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD865.836 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD394.481 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD103.862 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 56.81%, 25.88% and 6.81% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of Motivilicha plants (MOTZ) that went up by 66.67% to USD0.105 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "СhTRP" (CHEP) – by 30.77% to USD1.7 and ordinary shares of Synergy, Co. (SYNG) that went up by 27.78% to reach USD23.0.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of PJSC "NUTRINVESTHOLDING" (NTRI) that fell in price by 12.82% to reach USD3.4 followed by privileged shares of JSC Dorogobuzh (DGBZP) – by 9.09% to USD0.3 and ordinary shares of JSC "WGC-3" (OGKC) – by 6.60% to USD0.0467.
