OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2009. As the Minister of Agriculture and Food Valeriu Cosarciuc has informed, such decision was taken by the ministry on the commission of the new government, based on the program "European Integration: Freedom, Democracy and Prosperity."

As Valeriu Cosarciuc has noted, during the first meeting of the government the Prime Minister Vladimir Filat has charged the Ministry of Agriculture to develop measures to unblock the export of grapes and remove the existing barriers to the export of wine in bulk. As Valeriu Cosarciuc has explained, currently there are no obstacles for exports of grapes and wine in bulk abroad.

All Moldovan economic agents who have contracts on supply of their products can export it without any interference from the governmental agencies. At the moment in order to export grapes and wine in bulk the supplier must only certify the goods in terms of quality and safety. It should be noted that, according to the Agro-Industrial agency "Moldova-vin", the volume of the unsold wine in Moldova makes about 17 million dal worth US300 million.

These stocks were accumulated in 2006-2009 mainly due to difficulties with the supply of wine in bulk. Earlier, the director general of “Moldova-vin” Tudor Copaci said that Moldova intends to significantly increase export of bottled wine and wine in bulk to Russia after the expected opening of three more additional crossing points in Bryansk, St. Petersburg and Kaluga. He clarified that the deliveries of wine in bulk can be increased up to 6.7 million dal per year. Currently, all Moldovan wines and brandies are exported through the "single window" - the customs terminal in the Moscow region (Solntsevo).
