OREANDA-NEWS. September 25, 2009. The presentation of newly acquired car for Social taxi took place in L'viv. The project, founded in July, 2008 by non-governmental organization Narodna Dopomoha L'viv, consists in providing the social service of transportation of physically chalenged people – the invalids on wheelchairs. Last year the project had been realizing during 9 months (till April, 2009) with the engaging of temporally leased cars owing to the support of the Federal ministry of public welfare and defence of consumer rights of Austria and L'viv city council. During its realization over 800 persons were transported and 3 working places for persons with the special necessities (with the I group of disability) were created in controller's service. In August, 2009 OKKO filling complexes network and Universalna Insurance Company contributed UAH 130.000 on the acquisition, registration and insurance of the special car for Social taxi in L'viv.

"Very often we, people who work actively and obtain successful career, do not pay attention to the fact, how elementary constitutional rights of other people are violated around us, – Vitaliy Antonov, the Chairman of Supervisory Boards of Concern Galnaftogaz and Universalna Insurance Company, marked. – I mean human right to move free and respect toward the dignity of the citizen. We decided to purchase this car by few reasons, at first, L'viv is a city with almost a millionth population and such a car is extremely necessary here. Secondly, we constantly implement different progressive international standards, management standards, standards of service, standards of business ethics into businesses of the group. Social taxi service - is also an international standard, the standard of human rights and the standard of the mutual understanding between different groups of citizens in society. And we also want the environment which we live in to conform high world humanitarian standards". On the presentation Vitaliy Antonov declared, that Company will consider a possibility to provide Social taxi with fuel.

"The necessity to continue the activity of Social taxi is based on our previous experience. – Yuriy Lopatyns'kyi, the executive director of non-governmental organization Narodna Dopomoha L'viv marked on the presentation. – If at the beginning of the project in July, 2008 we searched people who needed social transportation services, then at the end of the previous stage, in April, 2009 controller's service had been registering an order for a few weeks ahead". The car gotten and sponsorship will allow the persons with the special necessities to use the transportation service in 2009, and in subsequent, calling by phone number in L'viv 243-51-05.

The Social taxi project was also supported by Open Ukraine Foundation, which gave facilities in the amount of UAH 25.000 for the part of administrative charges, and L'viv city council, confirming a budget in the amount of UAH 13.500 for the purchase of fuel and the remuneration of controllers' labour.
