Azerbaijan State Railway Resumes Oil Supplies to Georgia
OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2009. Azerbaijan State Railway Company CJSC (ADY) has resumed supplies of oil and petroleum products by rail after wheel pairs of some cars derailed nearby Keshle railway station of Baku.
ADY reports that the derailed wheel pairs of the cars were returned to railroad track and the train set off to its destination (it followed from Dubendi sea terminal to Georgian port Poti).
The train was loaded with black oil but no spillage of petroleum products occurred following derailing of the six wheel-pairs of cars.
“ADY also restored traffic in the region of Hajigabul railway station in direction to Georgia where embankment under railway track was eroded by water because of downpours. Railway traffic in direction to Dagestan (Russian Federation) has been restored as well,” ADY informed.
