OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2009. Construction of a 120 MW combined cycle power plant is going on at Permskaya combined heat and Power plant -6 of ОАО “TGK-9” (part of division of Comprehensive Energy Systems Holding “Urals Generation”). Branch of “Engineering Center UES” – “Institute Teploelectroproject”- will be the general designer. The new power unit of CHPP-6 will be equipped with Siemens-manufactured equipment.

“Institute Teploelectroproject” will develop working documentation for the construction project of combined cycle power plant for Permskaya CHPP-6. The institute designers have now started the preparation of working documentation for the CHPP on the basis of design by the Urals branch of ОАО “VNIPIenergoprom” and documentation of firm Siemens. The western company - supplier of the main equipment for the new power plant – will prepare working drawings within the scope of their delivery with due regard to the other system elements. At its factory in Finspong (Sweden) Siemens has manufactured two gas turbine units SGT-800 of the latest modification for Permskaya CHPP-6. The unit capacity is 47 MW with performance factor of 37,5%. Capacity of combined cycle power plant consisting of two SGT-800 and steam turbine SST-600 will make 120 MW with aggregate thermal output of 125 GCal/hr; total performance factor is 87%.

Specialists of “Institute Teploelectroproject” are facing the task of adaptation of the Siemens documentation to the Russian standards. Besides, the institute will prepare the working design for construction of the whole energy infrastructure within the site, including the construction part of the main building, utility lines at the construction site; ventilation system, heating and fire suppression system for the main building. At the territory of the operating station there will be erected a new building where the new combined cycle power plant will be assembled and mounted; and the electrical part will be housed in the existing CHPP building. It is anticipated that “Institute Teploelectroproject” will complete all the working drawings for the new CCPP for Permskaya CHPP-6 in February, 2010. Power plant commissioning date is scheduled for February, 2011.

Remodeling of Permskaya CHPP-6 is one of priority investment projects for Comprehensive Energy Systems Holding (ОАО “TGK-9” is part of energy division of the Holding) and the key project for the development of energy system in Perm Territory. Implementation of the project will make it possible to enhance the electrical capacity of Permskaya CHPP-6 up to 180 MW and its thermal capacity up to 240 GCal/hr. High efficiency of the new power plant will make it possible to reduce annual emission of greenhouse gas by 600 thousand ton. The thermal capacity to be bought into operation will additionally supply heating to more than 50 thousand apartments.
