Volume of Industrial Output in Moldova Decreases by 24,6% in Jan-Aug
OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2009. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, this was due to the decline in production at enterprises of the mining industry by 38,2%, processing industry -26,8% and energy sector - 4,5%. Reduction in volume of the industrial output was also due to the decline in production at factories producing clothes - by 16,5%, non-metallic mineral products (glass, concrete, plaster and cement) - by 42,4%, wine - 31, 4%.
The companies engaged in producing, processing and preserving meat and meat products have reduced production by 21,8%, producing rubber and plastic – by 27,5%, distilled alcohol beverages - 34,7%. The enterprises processing and canning fruits and vegetables have reduced production by 36,5%, footwear - by 52.9%, furniture - by 25,5%, paper and cardboard - by 42.6%, machinery and equipment – by 47, 3%.
At the same time, in January-August 2009, the volume of production in companies producing ready-made animal feed has increased by 1,8 times, poultry – by 1,7 times, machinery and equipment – by 15,3%, knitwear –by 13,4%, tobacco products – by 2,4%, pasta - 1,4%, cereals - 0,4%. As compared with July 2009, in August, the volume of production has increased by 1,2%. The most significant was the growth in the production of pasta- 47,2%, canned fruits - 39.3% and textile - 34,7%.
