OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2009. It was approved, that AB "Lifosa" is included into the list of the companies corresponding to the European Union quality management system's requirements in production of Feed Phosphates concerning safety, sanitation and hygiene.

This summer AB „Lifosa“ has declared its readiness to perform the certification and invited the auditors from the Netherlands. After AB "Lifosa’s” external audit, it was concluded, that the company conforms to all the requirements and conditions of production and processing of Feed Additives Standard GMP B1 and Feed Raw Material Quality Standard GMP B2. On August 24, 2009, as a proof, AB "Lifosa" was given the appropriate certificates. The audit was performed by the Netherlands Company DET NORSKE VERITAS CERTIFICATION B.V. under the leadership of the Company's representative Mr. R. A. M. van Waes.

GMP+ Standards were prepared in the Netherlands by the Livestock Feed Production Development Committee (PDV - Productschap Diervoeder) to be applied to feed stuff (feed additives, feed raw materials etc.) producing companies. These Standards stipulate specific regulations for the livestock feed stuff production, sales and shipping and are closely linked to ISO 9001 – Quality Management System Standard our Company was certified with in 2003.

The objectives of implementation of the GMP+ Standard in AB "Lifosa" - to improve company's activities efficiency and competitiveness in the market, to ensure harmonious growth and development of the company in the future, to help company's production consumers to distinguish quality product, used in production of feed stuff, from off-spec quality product sometimes yet sold in the market.

AB „Lifosa“ is among the first companies in Lithuania obtaining certificates in compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) system (RVASVT) Standards B1 and B2. These Certificates will be valied till August 24, 2012 and under the agreement with the Det Norske Veritas Certification B.V., regular audits at AB „Lifosa“ will be performed each 12 months.

AB „Lifosa“ started producing feed phosphates in 2001 (2001- Dicalcium Phosphate, 2002- Monocalcium Phosphate, 2004- Monodicalcium Phosphate). Currently only Monocalcium Phosphate is produced. In 2005 this product was awarded Gold medal at the contest “Product of the Year 2005”. In 2008 there were produced 62 thousand tons of Monocalcium Phosphate. From January the 1-st, 2009 AB „Lifosa“ started the implementation of the project „Expansion of AB „Lifosa“ Efficiency through Implementation of Innovative Technologies at Upgraded Feed Phosphate Process“. This Project is partially supported by the EU Structural Funds. European Regional Development Fund allocates 13 712 135 LTL for the introduction of a new Feed Phosphate line at the site. Completion date of the Project – July 31, 2010. New Feed Phosphate line will allow AB „Lifosa“ to increase twice the output of Feed Phosphates – up to 150 000 tons/a. As a result, the Company will be able to increase the sales of high quality products, enter new geographical markets and expand the exports.
