OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2009. The members of KAMAZ Board of Directors met in Naberezhnye Chelny.

The participants of the meeting were Tatarstan Prime-Minister Rustam Minnikhanov, Director General of Rostekhnologii State Corporation, Chairman of KAMAZ Board of Directors Sergey Chemezov, Chairman of Board of Directors of ZAO Troika Dialog Investment Company Ruben Vardanyan, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Ildar Khalikov, Director General of KAMAZ Inc. Sergey Kogoghin, other members of Board of Directors and the company’s top managers.

The participants visited the plants of KAMAZ and Kama Industrial Park Master. They also saw KAMAZ vehicles demonstrated on the test area, drove trucks KAMAZ-6350, -5350 and-6560 and enjoyed test-drives.

On 28 August a conference took place in the KAMAZ head office. The members of KAMAZ Board of Directors and the company’s top manager participated in this conference.

At the conference reports were made about the situation on the truck market in the Russian Federation, about the main results of KAMAZ activities during 8 months and plans till the end of 2009, about the company’s crisis-management program approved in October 2008, its realization and tasks. KAMAZ’s main measure to get out of the recession was announced: it was a restyled KAMAZ vehicle, the leader on the Russian market, which was introduced in the global automotive industry.

Sergey Chemezov mentioned that the situation in the Russian automobile industry was not that simple and emphasized that the KAMAZ top managers had proved to be competent due to their crisis management program implemented in time. This step helped the Kama auto plant to slightly reduce the crisis harmful consequences and even to trigger development of the Russian automobile industry.
