OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2009. The insurance company ROSNO has insured liability of organizers of the XIV exhibition of technical rarities "Oldtimer Gallery", reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

The Oldtimer Gallery is Russia’s only exhibition of classic cars and technical rarities. The exhibition has a successful seven-year record, rightfully ranking among the world’s best shows of car luxury and style. The exhibition is held twice a year by the Fund for Examination, Preservation and Protection of Technical Artefacts "Perpetuum Mobile".

The exhibition will feature over 100 cars, bicycles, and motorcycles. Among the unique exhibits of the autumn gallery are: bolide of the legendary Formula One racer Alan Prost; armored car Russo-Balt — pride and glory of the Russian car industry (analogue of the vehicles manufactured in Russia in 1909 to 1917); the world’s only Mercedes-Benz 290 lang Stromlinien-limousine (manufactured in 1936); Moskvitch-422 "Buratino", manufactured in 1954 to 1956, as well as the collection of Ford T vehicles (pickup, roadster, and phaeton). The two-day exhibition also features an entertainment program: coffee and cigar degustations, shows of vintage clothes and hats, jazz improvisations, dancing shows, and many other events.

The organizers’ liability has been insured with ROSNO for the entire duration of the event. The insurance amount is 3,000,000 US dollars, and the insurer’s liability limit per one insured accident is 300,000 US dollars.

ROSNO’s interest towards rarities is not purely occasional. This year, the company launched the Autovintage, a comprehensive program covering rarity cars, whereas a car may be insured for the duration of various events (rallies, exhibitions, etc.) and for the duration of storage in an enclosed space against such risks as fire, theft, or robbery. The insurance coverage also contemplates protection of cars as transport vehicles (in case of a traffic accident) for the duration of their transportation to the place of destination. This program has been developed using the expertise accumulated by Allianz in insurance coverage of rarity cars, as well as the expertise of ROSNO, which has been insuring many private collections of cultural and artistic value.
