OREANDA-NEWS. September 21, 2009. At present, the insurance company ROSNO provides coverage under 114 contracts insuring general property in the apartment buildings located in the Eastern Okrug, Moscow (Moscow total: 256 contracts). In 2009, under the insurance contracts covering apartment buildings, ROSNO paid its clients over 1.7 million roubles for 18 insured accidents, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

In the first half of 2009, the largest insurance compensation paid by ROSNO under contracts insuring general property in apartment buildings was made in favour of the housing construction cooperative Tantal against the risk of unlawful third-party actions. The cooperative was twice robbed, with firefighting equipment being dismantled and carried away. Subsequently, the elevator and basement were flooded after the hooligans opened the fire cock. In total, ROSNO paid the housing construction cooperative 700,938.91 roubles. The aggregate cost of insurance protection covering the entire building equalled 5,870.32 roubles per month.

Two other large compensation payments were related to a fire. In the building owned by the housing construction cooperative Parus, vandals set fire to mailboxes. The insurance compensation paid by ROSNO equalled 112,803.26 roubles. The aggregate monthly cost of insurance for the cooperative equalled 1814.69 roubles. Another fire started in the entrance hall of the building owned by the housing construction cooperative Moscow Composer-2. ROSNO paid 119,171.03 roubles for this insured accident. The aggregate monthly cost of insurance for the cooperative equalled 3268.33 roubles.

The insurance program covering general property in Moscow apartment buildings is effective since 2006. During this period, 256 residential buildings were insured in the city, whereof 114 buildings were insured in the Eastern Administrative Okrug, where, following the tender results, the insurance programs covering housing located in the city of Moscow are implemented by OJSC IC ROSNO.

Only in Moscow, residential premises and general property kept in apartment buildings are insured at the expense of the municipal budget. Pursuant to the order of the Government of Moscow "On measures aimed at developing insurance coverage of general property of the premise owners in apartment buildings" dated 2006, 40% of the insurance compensation is reimbursed by the Municipal Housing Insurance Centre.

Under the municipal program for insurance coverage of general property kept in apartment buildings, 12.1% of the collected premium is remitted by insurance companies to the Preventive Measures Fund. Last year, residents of the Eastern Okrug, where ROSNO operates, received 3,150,000 roubles of insurance compensations, while in the first half of the current year already 3,240,000 roubles were paid.
