OREANDA-NEWS. September 18, 2009. JSC “Engineering Center UES” represented by its branch, “Firm ORGRES”, will perform work under a contract with JSC “Russian Railroads” related to certification of electric power transmitted through distribution grids of the Russian Railroads to domestic consumers (within the limits of railways of all the Russian Federation subjects).

Currently there is a developed legal basis in Russia which provides for the possibility to consider the quality of electric power supplied by energy providers, including the quality of power supplied to citizens, as an integral element of commodity-money relations in the consumer market. To electric power, as to any type of goods, the notion of “Quality” is applicable as it is characterized by aggregation of properties that determine its usability to ensure normal operation of electrical installations of power consumers. Electric power certification is done in full agreement with the requirements of GOST R certification system and “Regulations for certification of electric equipment and electric power”.

“Firm ORGRES” will implement certification of electric power transmitted via Russian Railroads distribution power grids (this type of activity is within the responsibility area of a branch of JSC”Russian Railroads” – “Transenergo” company) in a joint effort with FGU “Rostest-Moscow”. Certification includes activities as prescribed in “Regulation for certification of production in the Russian Federation” including but not limited to checks whether deviations of voltage and frequency are within the norms of standard GOST 13109-97.

It is planned to complete these activities by the end of 2009.

Based on the results of procedures to be implemented by “Firm ORGRES”, the JSC “Russian Railroads” will obtain the certificate of electric power quality conformance with the requirements of standard GOST 13109-97.
