OREANDA-NEWS. September 18, 2009. During the meeting of the government the acting Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, Sergiu Sainciuc mentioned that till September 15, 2820 licenses for the export of goods. For the wine exports 723 permits were issued and export quotas for this group of the products were used by 99.98%.

The sugar quota was used by 88.77% and accounted for 15,977.8 tons. 362 permits were issued for the export of barley and 50% of the quota was used. Export quota for maize was used by 98.5%. During the meeting it was noted that till now the leguminous crops and canola in volume over 1190 thousand tons were harvested and productivity over the country made 2.16 tonnes per ha.

Thus, about 770 thousand tons of wheat, 303 thousand tons of barley, 21 thousand tons of peas and 80 thousand tons of the rapeseed has been harvested. The acting Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Anatoly Gorodenco said that in 2009 food wheat harvest will make about 45% of the gross volume. Gorodenco announced that thus the food security of 285 thousand tons is fully provided and 160 tons are exported.

At the same time, the Deputy Director General of the Agro industrial Agency "Moldova-Vin", Nicolae Taran, informed that this year it is expected to harvest 350 thousand tons of grapes or 100 thousand tons more than the previous year. He noted that till now 38 thousand tons of grapes, including 16 thousand tons for processing have been harvested. Taran noted that currently there are no restrictions on the export of grapes of the technical sorts to Ukraine. This year 120 wineries will process 240 thousand tons of grapes.
