WB Postpones Discussion on Assistance to Azerbaijani Financial Sector
OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2009. Michael Edwards, head of financial sector of World Bank (WB) put off the mission to Azerbaijan.
The WB office in Baku reports that the visit, which was scheduled for September 14 at first, will start after October 4.
Transfer of date did not reflect on programme of the mission. Besides the discussion of issues concerning realization of Financial Sector Development Program (FSDP) and the project of protection of consumer rights of financial services, financed by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), М. Edwards will consider prospects of expansion of cooperation on development of private and financial sector.
The WB Group remains the basic investor of Azerbaijan out of a number the multilateral development banks, and has given as the group about USD 3 bn since 1995.
