Russian World Studios Announces Certification

Dolby® Premier Studio Certification is a measure of technical excellence at every level of the studio’s operation. Room acoustics, monitoring standards (visual as well as audio), equipment selection, installation standards, synchronization accuracy, mixing competence, and technical experience are all measured and evaluated as part of the certification process. The standards are based on Dolby’s research and the vast experience of its studio engineers who have worked all over the world producing multichannel film soundtracks.
Only fourteen studios in the world have qualified for this prestigious distinction, which includes criteria for the sound equipment, projectors, and speakers, installation of all equipment and for the studio itself, including room configuration, size, and acoustic configuration (sound absorption and sound deflection).
The studio was constructed under the supervision of Alpha Tech Cambridge Group who has worked with high profile studios such as Skywalker (Lucas Film), Disney Studios, Warner Bros., and Fox Studios Facilities.
“Russian World Studios St. Petersburg is the first purpose-built Russian film studio in 60 years, and we want it to reflect all current technology available,” says Russian World Studios CEO Yuri Sapronov. “A new Dolby Premier Studio, which is only 15th in the world, is built according to the highest standards, even construction consultants from Alfa Tech Cambridge Group, who worked on the project, were impressed by the final result. It is the first Dolby Premier Studio with a unique ceiling made of DigiWave arched panels, which allows sound to spread better around the facility.
