COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (JSC COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading provider of integrated telecommunication services in Russia and the CIS, announces that COMSTAR-Ukraine, COMSTAR-UTS’ affiliate, and SITRONICS Information Technologies, one of the leading providers of IT solutions, products and services in the CIS and Eastern Europe, completed the joint project to deploy pilot wireless broadband network in Kiev and Odessa.

Under this project, both companies designed and deployed a broadband radio communication system to ensure fragmented coverage of multiple Kiev and Odessa districts. The network uses 5 GHz Proxim broadband access equipment.

COMSTAR-Ukraine wireless broadband network is based on multi-service data network that is built with the help of NGN (Next Generation Network) solutions.
