OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2009. India is interested in cooperating with Russia on the construction of a new nuclear power plant, Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission of India Anil Kakodkar said during a meeting with Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation.

The official representative of Rosatom Sergey Novikov said that the parties confirmed their commitment to quickly finalize the work on the contract to build the 3rd and 4th units of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant. Kakodkar said that India was interested in cooperating with Russia not only at Kudankulam but also at a new site.
