OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2009. Oranta National Joint-Stock Insurance Company took part in a conference on corporate social responsibility held by International Research and Exchanges Board .The even took place on September 5-6, 2009, in Slavskoye, Lvov region. U.S. Department of State alumni who participated in the UGRAD and MUSKIE exchange programs took part in the seminar.

The speakers of the event included representatives of the UN in Ukraine, leaders of Ukrainian socially responsible businesses, and NGOs working in the field of corporate social responsibility. Ukraine’s insurance market was represented at the event by Oranta.

Alexandra Afanasyeva, head of Corporate Communications Department, gave a presentation called “Corporate Social Responsibility at the Time of the Recession: Squandering or a Step to Further Development." In the presentation, Ms. Afanasyeva emphasized the strategic approach to social responsibility that Oranta is taking to demonstrate its potential as a promising asset, increase its competitiveness and generate additional value thanks to the company's efficient CSR strategy. “Like standard indicators of economic development, the CRS issues today may profoundly affect the reputation and value of a business,” said Ms. Afanasyeva.
