Aeroflot Received Fourth А330-200
OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2009. JSC Aeroflot Russian Airlines has received the fourth А330-200 air plane by Airbus. The aircraft was named after Aleksandr Griboyedov, a Russian playwright, poet and diplomat, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
This is the fourth aircraft of this type received under an operational leasing contract. The leasing company is AerCap. By 2010, Aeroflot expects receiving six more А330 aircrafts including one А330-200 and five A330-300s.
А330 aircrafts have flying range of up to 12,500 km, can accommodate 241 passengers and are used by leading international carriers in the long-haul segment. The aircrafts are equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 772 engines.
The new airliners are delivered to Aeroflot on a two-class layout: 34 business-class and 207 economy-class seats. The aircrafts have the cutting-edge Panasonic eX 2 IFE system with wide-screen video-monitors sized 9-16’’ inbuilt in each armchair, allowing the use of a multi-channel video-audio program. The business class compartment has comfortable foldable ‘cocoon’ armchairs. The economy-class compartment has increased inter-row space for more comfortable accommodation of passengers.
The carrier plans operation of А330s on both international and domestic lines.
Currently, А330s fly to Beijing, Habana, Vladivostok and London.
