OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2009. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is extending a EUR4.1 million loan to Logoplaste Ukraine, a subsidiary of Logoplaste, one of the largest producers of rigid plastics packaging in Europe, reported the press-centre of EBRD.

The Bank’s financing will support Logoplaste Ukraine in the acquisition, modernisation and operation of the packaging facilities of the Kiev subsidiary of SC Johnson, one the largest manufacturers of home care products worldwide. It will also help introduce the packaging outsourcing concept still little known in Ukraine and the CIS region. According to this concept, plastic bottles are supplied “just-in-time” from factories built directly within each client’s premises. This will be Logoplaste’s first facility in the CIS and the second in EBRD countries of operations after the Czech Republic in 2005.

The packaging outsourcing concept developed by Logoplaste will be attractive for other companies in Ukraine and the region since it offers an integrated and complete packaging development solution that goes from early innovation and design to engineering, manufacturing and implementation, said EBRD Ukraine Director Andre Kuusvek.

Filipe de Botton, Logoplaste CEO, said: "It was a truly rewarding achievement: we entered a new country, with the privilege of doing that alongside a great partner – SC Johnson – also a family company that shares our core values. This new venture, which had EBRD full support from the start, rewards Logoplaste’s work and enhances the potential for our group's growth in this strategic region in the near future".

Logoplaste is a privately owned company founded in 1976, focused on “in-house” or dedicated sites, developing and producing rigid plastic packaging. Present in 17 countries with over 50 plants, Logoplaste cooperates with the most relevant multinationals and strong local players. Visit Logoplaste’s website:www.logoplaste.com
