OREANDA-NEWS. September 14, 2009. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) fined "BaselCement-Pikalyovo" CSJC 19 642 891 Rubles for abusing dominant position, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia. 

Earlier FAS Russia found that "BaselCement-Pikalyovo" CSJC violated Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (that prohibits abusing dominant position).

"BaselCement-Pikalyovo" CSJC violated the law by terminating in 2008 supplies of nepheline slurry (crude materials for cement production) to "Pikalyovsky Cement" CJSC and cutting down supplies of carbonate mud (crude materials for cement production of soda and potash) to "Metakhim" CJSC in spite of valid supply contracts.

Under Article 14.31 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Violations (CoAV RF), abusing dominant position is punishable by an administrative fine for legal entities in the amount of 1 - 15% of the total proceeds gained by the violator from selling goods in the market, where the violation was committed, in the year preceding the year when the violation was discovered.
