OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2009. Mass harvest is being continued  in Azerbaijan. The State Statistical  Committee reports that as of 1st  August, 2009, 1.777 million hectares of corn cultures were mowed.

“2.8 million tons of grain  were cropped  that is by  500,000 more than  last year,” it was informed.

In accordance with data of the Ministry of  Agriculture, in 2009 grain harvest will make 3 million tons that is quite high index.

Substantial changes occurred in structure of sowing and attention to pulse plants, especially wheat production, increased. Total crop area increased by 51.7% compared to 2000 and reached 81% in 2008.
