Azerbaijan Retains 38 Position in Doing Business
OREANDA-NEWS. September 11, 2009. In accordance with conclusions of survey on freedom of entrepreneurship Doing Business, being carried out by the World Bank (WB), Azerbaijan has lost reputation of reformer, with nominal retention of position.
In accordance with Doing Business 2010, the country saved last year’s position among 183 states, but lost not only the first place among country reformers but also came out from a group of ten of such countries. Rwanda, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Byelorussia are acknowledged as basic reformers in the report.
On starting business the country fell by 6 positions down – from 11th to 17th place, on dealing with construction permits– by 3 positions or from 155th to 158th place, on employing workers added 29 positions, raised from 62nd
to 33rd place, on registering property saved 9th position, on credit availability stepped back by 3 positions – from 12th to 15th place, on encouragement of investments – did a step back from 19th to 20th position, on payment of taxes fell down by 5 positions from 103rd to 108th place, on cross-border trade also stepped back a step from 176th to 177th position, as well as on the observance of contacts, where fell down from 25th to 26th place. 84th place on closing of business remained unchanged.
