As agreed with the Ministry for Industry and Trade, specialized enterprises belonging to Traktornye Zavody machinery-building group will start combined forwarder-and-harvester logging units production.
Chetra wheeled harvester is a multi-operation machine designed for felling, debranching, bucking and packing logs at the felling area. The program has automatic mode in order to reach maximum commercial timber output in sawing, volume and species pattern of harvested wood is stored in the database. The machine has 8 wheels which allow high stability and passability. Low centre of gravity of the machine makes it very stable. Ground pressure of the four wheel pairs is low, so the harvester does not have environmental impact.
Since April 2009, the company assembles Silvatec harvesters in Russia at Onega tractor plant. The new machine has already obtained compliance certificate. New harvesting equipment was developed in the framework of the government contract with the Ministry for Industry and Trade.
