OREANDA-NEWS. On 9 September 2009 was announced, that the first launch complex of Urik electric substation with a 25,000 kVA transformer was put in operation in the village of Urik. The electric energy will be transmitted through 110 kV overhead line “Thermal power station No.10 (JSC Irkutskenergo) – Urik”.

The appearance of the substation was caused by an active construction of the right-bank part of the Irkutsk Region. The new optimised scheme of electric supply of the right-bank of Irkutsk and the suburbs of the Irkutsk Region was developped in 2007. Construction of the substation started in August 2008. The cost of the construction and installation work was RUR 220m. The total cost of the project was around RUR 600m. The general contractor of the project is the company Vostoksibelectrosetstroi ltd, the contractor is Vector A ltd. The project work was made by the institute of Vostoksibselenergoproject.

This project will be made in association with JSC “Irkutsk Electric Grid Company”. The customer is Eastern Electric Networks of JSC “Irkutsk Electric Grid Company” that execute the function of technical supervision.

Input of this complex will help to reduce transport losses of electric energy and increase its supply, improving, thus, electric supply of the villages of Khomutovo, Karluk, Granovshchina, Laylovshchina and Zapadny microdistrict.

JSC Irkutskenergo is the largest energy coal company in Russia; it includes heat and hydro power stations, heating networks and coal deposits. The installed capacity of the power station is 12.9 GW, more than 9GW of them belonging to the hydro power plant. The Federal Agency for State Property Management possesses 40% of the shares of JSC Irkutskenergo, and the largest Russian private energy company EuroSibEnergo (belongs to En+Group), 50.19% of the shares.

 “Irkutsk Electric Grid Company” ltd was created on the basis of the network branches of JSC Irkutskenergo under the federal law “On the peculiarities of functioning of electric energy in the transition period…” for execution of activities on transmission of electric energy. On 30 June, 2009, “Irkutsk Electric Grid Company” ltd under the resolution of its sole participant was restructured and became JSC “Irkutsk Electric Grid Company”. The sole shareholder of JSC “Irkutsk Electric Grid Company” is JSC “Irkutsk Electric Networks”.
