OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2009. President Alexander Lukashenko met with Zenon Lomat, Chairman of the State Control Committee, to receive his report, reported the Official website president.gov.by.

According to Mr Lomat, following the instructions of the President, the total number of inspections in January-August was reduced. Their total number was 4,404, down 36 per cent. Inspections do not interfere with the companies’ everyday routine and are held only in case there is reliable information about wrongdoings, said Mr Lomat.

As a result of inspections and checkups, 122 documents have been sent to the Government with proposals regarding the prevention of negative phenomena in the economy.

Mr Lomat briefed the Head of State on the results of the inspections held at the companies subordinate to the Presidential Property Management Directorate and on the progress with the implementation of import substitution programmes.

The President gave his consent for inquires into the use of budget allocations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, into equipment procurements conducted by the Ministry of Healthcare, and an inspection at the Ministry of Economy which will start in Q4 2009 and run through Q1 2010.

A number of other issues were discussed during the presentation of the report.
