Aeroflot to Replace Air Speed Probes of Thales to Goodrich
OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2009. In compliance with the airworthiness directive by the European Aviation Security Agency, Aeroflot will, in four months’ time, replace 2 out of 3 total pressure probes (air speed probes) manufactured by Thales to probes by Goodrich on three А330-200 aircrafts received in late 2008 – early 2009, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.
The new А330-200 airliners which are going to be received by the company after September 04 will be equipped with probes complying with the new technical requirements.
А330-200 aircrafts have a flying range of up to 1,500 km, can accommodate 241 passengers, and are used by the world’s leading air carriers in the long-haul segment. The aircrafts are equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent 772 engines.
The new А330-200 liners received by Aeroflot come in a two-class layout, with 34 business-class and 207 economy-class seats. The aircrafts are equipped with the IFE system Panasonic eX 2 with wide-screen video monitors 9’’ to 16‘’ in size built in each chair, which allows using multi-channel video and audio programs. The business class compartments are equipped with foldable “cocoon” chairs. The economy-class has a larger inter-row space for a more comfortable accommodation of passengers.
The company intends to operate А330s on both international and domestic routes.
Currently, А330s fly to Beijing, Habana, Vladivostok, Tokyo and London.
