Gazprom Addressed Issues of Kirovo-Chepetsk–Baramzy Construction
OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2009. The Gazprom Headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Nikita Belykh, Governor of the Kirov Oblast.
The parties addressed the progress with the Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Kirov Oblast, discussed the gasification issues, in particular, the prospects for the Kirovo-Chepetsk – Baramzy gas lateral construction.
Background
The Agreement of Cooperation between Gazprom and the Kirov Oblast Government was signed in July 2004 and extended in May 2009. The parties entered into the Accord on Gasification in December 2001.
In 2008 the Kirov Oblast was supplied with some 2.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas. This year’s supplies are projected in the amount of some 2.2 billion cubic meters.
The average gasification level in the Kirov Oblast accounts for 31.4 per cent including 41.2 per cent in cities and towns and 8.6 per cent in the rural area. The same figures throughout Russia average 62, 67 and 44 per cent respectively.
Between 2002 and 2008 Gazprom invested over RUB 3.2 billion to gasify the Kirov Oblast. In 2009 the Company is going to commit RUB 540 million for the same purpose. These funds will be used to continue the construction of 9 inter-settlement pas pipelines with 163.5 kilometers in total length, as well as to launch the construction of 7 new facilities.
