OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2009. The 7th International Exhibition of Armament, Military Equipment and Ammunition in Nizhny Tagil became one of the most successful and useful for KAMAZ during the last years.

This is an opinion which belongs to the managers and specialists of KAMAZ Inc. who worked at this largest show of armament, military equipment and ammunition for the Armed Forces in which about 400 enterprises and organizations from 40 countries participated. During the days of the exhibition over 50 thousand people, both citizens and guests, visited it.

RussianExpoArms-2009 was held in the remarkable year: Sredneuralsk Exhibition Center celebrated its 10th anniversary, Nizhny Tagil Institute of Metals Testing, which was an initiator and organizer of the exhibition, celebrated its 70th anniversary and there was the 300th anniversary of the battle of Poltava.

KAMAZ was one of the two enterprises representing the Russian production of heavy vehicles. On the first day of the exhibition over 10 Russian and foreign enterprises expressed their interest in various forms of cooperation with KAMAZ Inc. Besides multiple potential customers, there were prospective partners in the joint business among them. Having made special mention of excellent engineering data of KAMAZ vehicles, they offered KAMAZ cooperation in their further development. Their projects concerned, in particular, improvement of engine behavior, a tire inflation system, armor defending from high-precision arms. Some KAMAZ not-yet-users offered another version of vehicle packaging they needed. The KAMAZ specialists made a note of all these suggestions so that they should make additions to their quite an extensive vehicle family in the shortest space of time.

During the demonstration program, the audience managed to appreciate propulsive performance of KAMAZ vehicles, their high cross-country ability and versatile use. An armored vehicle KAMAZ-43269 “Dozor” (Patrol) was a great success. It attracted the Kuwait Ministry of Defence representatives’ great attention. And when during the demonstration under firing ground conditions “Dozor” got over a ford so deep that the water level was higher than its roof, many spectators couldn’t help crying enthusiastically.

Interest in the products of KAMAZ Inc. became even stronger after performance of other all-wheel drive vehicles: a six-wheel KAMAZ-5350 with a crane-manipulator IM-55 and an eight-wheel KAMAZ-6560.

The products of KAMAZ were represented at the exhibition by other producers too. Thus, for example, a bus “Sarmat” and a volley fire rocket system “Smerch” (Tornado) installed on an eight-wheel KAMAZ chassis was the object of visitors’ much attention at the exhibition. The latter product was nicknamed by journalists as “two merged masterpieces”.

The organizers of the exhibition granted a special award to KAMAZ for its participation.
