Russian auto giant AvtoVAZ sold 29,109 vehicles in August, a source familiar with preliminary data of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) and a company source said. This means Lada sales declined compared to July by 10.2% in August. July’s sales volumes (32,426 Lada autos) hit a record high for AvtoVAZ for FY 2009.

At that time, the automotive concern reported sales jumped 12.4% compared to June. Against last August Lada sales sank 41.1% (down 42% in July). During the first eight months of 2009 AvtoVAZ managed to sell 241,405 autos or 43.6% less than in the same period a year ago.
