Govt of Ukraine Can Finance Local Budgets with Its Resolutions
OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2009. The Gov’t has agreed with representatives of local self-government authorities that in the case the Parliament doesn’t approve the State Budget for 2010 the Government will direct funds to the local budgets with special resolutions. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced during a constituent congress of the association of village and rural-type settlement councils.
“From January 1 the budget has to be endorsed by the Verkhovna Rada or they will commence a financial-economic crime and it won’t be approved, then you will have regulated relations with the State Budget,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized.
The Prime Minister of Ukraine noted that “despite temporary confrontation of leaders of the nation, so to say “temporary confrontation of deputies” interbudget relations in 2009 had been held according to a new scheme envisaged by changes to the Budget Code.
“I am grateful for the unanimous decision as I can make such steps only if I know that your powerful, intellectual and acting team is standing next to me. We will make everything without a hitch, avoiding any close fight,” Yulia Tymoshenko stressed after the participants supported her proposition.
