Rospan International Produced 20 bln Cubic Meters of Gas in 15 Years
OREANDA-NEWS. September 08, 2009. The closed joint-stock company Rospan International, a subsidiary of TNK-BP, has produced 20 billion cubic meters of gas since it began development of its fields 15 years ago, the press service of the company informed, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.
Approximately 1.56 billion cubic meters of gas and 350 tons of gas condensate was produced by Rospan International in the first eight months of 2009. By the end of the year, the production volumes are expected to amount to 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas and 550 tons of gas condensate.
Rospan International is the only subsidiary of TNK-BP dedicated to production of gas. The company was established in 1994 for development of the Vostochno-Urengoiskoe and Novo-Urengoiskoe gas condensate fields in the Purovsky District of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area. The reserves of these fields are estimated at 950 billion cubic meters of gas and 180 million tons of gas condensate.
In March 2008, the joint venture of Mezhregiongaz, a subsidiary of Gazprom, and TNK-BP started its activities for sales of the gas produced in the fields of Rospan International, further development of the Rospan International fields, and buildup of production volumes. In 2008, approximately 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas was sold by this joint venture.
TNK-BP invested US52.14 million in 2006 and US77.9 million in 2007 into development Rospan International. These funds were used for support and maintenance of current activities of the company, modernization of its equipment, drilling, completion and operation of new wells, and interpretation of the data of three-dimensional seismic surveys.
In 2009, TNK-BP invested 718.4 million rubles into Rospan International, of which nearly 200 million rubles was spent for geological exploration works and 68.6 million rubles was used for drilling of well pads and construction of their infrastructure.
Currently, TNK-BP is preparing a plan for full development of Rospan International fields. The company has received technical documentation from Gazprom for tapping into the trunk gas pipeline and is waiting for technical specifications and requirements for crossing the infrastructure of third parties during construction of a gas pipeline from the field to the tapping site.
