OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 September 2009 was announced, that Belarus had harvested 7.865 million tones of grain by August 24, down 7.3% on the year, from 2.363 million hectares, 90.6% of total planted areas.

So far, 343,200 tones of malt barley have been harvested, down 4.3% on the year, from 87,500 hectares, up 4.7%, or 99.8% of all areas under barley.

The average yield of grain and legumes stands at 3.78 tones per hectare, down 2.8% on the year.

Sales of grain have amounted to 89.7% of the state-guaranteed order, at 919,400 tones, down 1% on the year.

Sales of malt barley reached 108,400 tones, down 17.4% of the year, at 72.3% of the government-guaranteed order of 150,000 tones.

Also, 742,900 tones of winter rape has been harvested, up 23.8% on the year, with yield averaging 2.32 tones per hectare, down 3.7% on the year.
