OREANDA-NEWS. On 02 September 2009 was announced, that the number of subscribers of the TVist packet mode service launched by Sibirtelecom on October 1, 2008 exceeded 6 thousand users. Using this service, those who live in Novosibirsk and in the region can watch digital multichannel TV, use high-speed Interness access and various services. The interface of the service was considerably improved within less than a year, while the number of services has increased.

“We think that interactive television services should be developed first of all due to the increasing of the number of channels and due to a wider range of additional services. With this purpose, we have introduced a new scalable IPTV platform of VSS company, – says Yury Kupriyanov, Director of Novosibirsk Branch of Sibirtelecom OJSC. – The new hardware and software complex is a full-function operator solution that takes into account both important business tasks and prospective development lines”.

In July 2009 Sibirtelecom introduced new services, such as TVist, “Postponed Viewing” and “Network Videorecorder” in channels Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Science, Discovery World, Travel&Living that make it possible for the subscriber to create its own television and manage its time. The “Postponed Viewing” provides a possibility to watch a program that has been broadcasted already. The “Network Videorecorder” service allows ordering a record of a TV program that will be broadcasted in the near future and watching it after the air. Subscribers of TVist can read the electronic program schedule on the TV display, block certain channels from viewing by other family members (including the “Parent’s Control” function), make bookmarks to quickly find the required video product and get the popular service of “Video at Request”.
