Electric Power Consumption in Moldova Increased in 1H by 0,7%
OREANDA-NEWS. September 01, 2009. Electric power consumption in Moldova increased in the first half of 2009 by 0.7 per cent in comparison with the same period last year to reach 1 billion 622.9 million kW/h. According to the National Power Regulating Agency, the most considerable growth of electric power consumption was registered in zones served by the RED Union Fenosa and RED Nord-Vest electricity distributing enterprises.
In the first case, consumption grew by 2.7 per cent and reached 1 billion 162.7 million kW/h, in the second case – by 1.9 per cent and totaled 140.4 million kW/h. Consumption in the zone within the jurisdiction of the RED Nord enterprise reduced by 1 percent and totaled 283.6 million kW/h, while independent consumers used 36.2 million kW/h, down 34.2 per cent from the first six months of 2008.
The level of technological consumption and commercial losses of electric power decreased by 5 percentage points in comparison with the first half of 2009 and made up 12.5 per cent (227.38 million kW/h). The lowest indicator – 8.2 per cent was registered in the RED Nord, and the highest one – 13.6 per cent – in RED Union Fenosa. At the same time, the level of technological consumption in transport networks increased by 2 per cent and totaled 56.16 kW/h.
