On 31 August 2009 was announced, that "Transstroy" Holding had started the procedure of registration in Turkmenistan and appointed a director for strategic and current issues on the ground. This was announced in a press release issued by JSC "Engineering Corporation Transstroy" on the results of the company's participation in "Turkmengurlushyk - 2009" (Turkmen construction sector - 2009) exhibition, which was held in Ashgabat from 20 to 22 August.

"It is difficult to project any volumes of future contracts at the moment, but we expect that the annual turnover of funds will reach USD 1 billion," the holding's director general, Ivan Kuznetsov, said in a press release.

He said the company is ready to offer its bridge construction expertise to Turkmenistan. It is noted that a draft design of the bridge across Amu Darya River was presented at the exhibition, and it drew attention of representatives of the Turkmen government. "The exhibition organizers were also interested in construction of hydraulic facilities and airfields, civil and railway construction," the report said.
