OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 August 2009 was announced, that Ukraine received SDR 1.017bn or USD 1.59bn from IMF in the program of IMF members support. The funds are directed on the strengthening of the international reserves of the IMF members. Due to the Program Ukraine will receive SDR 0.292bn (USD 0.457) on 9 September.

Millennium Capital: the loan provision will increase Ukraine’s international reserves by 6.9% to USD 31.7bn, enabling the NBU to support hryvnia in the year end. Still we expect that the IMF support will at most maintain the exchange rate at the current level, since foreign currency demand is expected to rise before the elections in January.
