Russia and S. Korea Launched Korea Space Launch Vehicle-1
OREANDA-NEWS. August 28, 2009. The Korea Space Launch Vehicle -1 (KSLV-1), carrying the S. Korea's STSAT-2 satellite, was launched from the Naro Space Center at 5 p.m. local time, reported the press-centre of Khrunichev Space Center.
This is the first launch of the booster which was jointly created by the Russian and Korean specialists for South Korea.
The Russian side of the joint project should regard the launch as successful while for the Korean side it is only partially so. Roscosmos entities have been responsible for the Russian-made first stage. It has performed nominally. The Russian space industry's press office offers no other comment while specialists are busy analyzing telemetry and other data.
