OREANDA-NEWS. On August 26, 2009 Subsidiary Bank Alfa-Bank (Almaty), bonds of which are listed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), issued a statement, reported the press-centre of KASE:

August 19 and 21, 2009 Subsidiary Bank Alfa-Bank placed on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) 60,000 bonds KZT600 m nominal value.

Placed coupon bonds' yield is 12.5 % APR with maturity on March 4, 2011. One bond nominal value is KZT10,000.

The bonds were mainly purchased by institutional investors, including accumulative pension funds and Kazakh insurance companies. Alfa-Bank is intending to place the rest of the issue as demand in funds appears.

Alfa-Bank's chairman Danilla Smirnov commented the bank has high liquidity, and domestic loan placement is a part of the program increasing and diversifying a resource base of the bank.

The funds raised through the issue shall be used to finance small and middle businesses in national currency.
