OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2009. Total amount of arrears of wages demonstrated in July of 2009 by enterprises of all forms of property has downed by 5% and equals UAH 1.5 billion. First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy Pavlo Rozenko informed during a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

“Ultimate debts at the enterprises of all property forms continue to shorten and it is undoubtedly a positive dynamics,” Pavlo Rozenko emphasized.

The First Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy noted that debts at economically active enterprises dropped significantly: as of July 1 of 2009 it was over UAH 1.1 billion, but through a month it has reduced by almost 8% and totals around UAH 1 billion.

According to Pavlo Rozenko, as of August 1 against same date of the previous month arrears of wages reduced by 16% at the state-owned enterprises subordinate to the central executive authorities. 

“Just the state-owned enterprises are demonstrating most significant decrease of arrears of wages among the rest of enterprises of other property forms,” he underlined and added for now this debt amounted around UAH 200 million against almost UAH 350 million at the start of year.

Pavlo Rozenko also aired that all the ministries got a commission by the end of month to solve an issue of paying off arrears of wages on the controlled by them enterprises: “We hope that in a month, when arrears of wages are considered again, we will observe similar positive tendency in reduction of debts”.
