GRASYS Is Supplier of Nitrogen and Oxygen Equipment for Vankor field
OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2009. GRASYS has become the supplier of equipment for gaseous nitrogen production in the Vankor field — one of the Russia's major oil projects. In early 2007, GRASYS won the tender of NK Rosneft for the supply of membrane and adsorption nitrogen equipment for inert environment generation in oil tanks and intermediate water tanks, fire safety assurance and compliance with process requirements in the Vankor field. GRASYS oxygen system is designed for oxygen production and injection in cylinders used in metal cutting and welding.
Nitrogen plants supplied by GRASYS are equipped with the most up-to-date automatic control system (ACS) provided with the manual and automated local and remote control options. The ACS implements the control algorithm and monitors technical parameters of plant performance. It also allows tracking malfunctions and emergency situations, has necessary safety interlocks and the self-diagnostic system. In addition, ACS enables discrete operation of individual plant equipment units or their groups which enhances the flexibility of its application. The ACS panel is based on the industrial-type controller (PLC), provided with the active LC display and "hot" buttons allowing quick access to the most important functions.
The Vankor project is one of the most ambitious contemporary projects in Russia. It is supported by more than 150 equipment suppliers including 65 equipment manufacturers. The project engages 450 contracting organizations (including subcontractors). At the peak stage of construction, it involved 12 thousand builders and 2 thousand equipment items. The Vankorneft permanent staff comprises about 2 thousand people. GRASYS was selected the winner of the tender for supply of gas separation equipment due to the superior performance characteristics of its equipment, optimal delivery dates and conditions and other objective advantages. No small part in the award decision played GRASYS extensive experience in the market and the successful implementation of technically sophisticated projects. The project of gas separation equipment manufacture for the Vankor field is the largest one in the GRASYS track record. GRASYS gas separation plants for nitrogen production are used on 5 lines: Central Pumping Station (CPS), Terminal Oil Pumping Station (TOPS), Oil Pumping Station 1 (OPS1), Oil Pumping Station 2 (OPS2), and the unique Oil Treatment & Water Discharge Line (TWD-Yug). Also, nitrogen and oxygen production equipment is used in the Field Support Base (FSB).
On 21 August, the solemn ceremony marking the commencement of commercial oil production took place. The launch of commercial exploitation of the new large-scale field was announced by the Head of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin.
The launch of commercial exploitation of the new large-scale field was announced by the Head of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin.
The current oil production from the field is estimated at 18 thousand tons per day, which figure shall be driven up to 30 thousand tons by the yearend. Overall in 2009, about 3 million tons of raw stuff is planned to be produced from Vankor. It is expected that at the peak production level the output will reach 25.5 MTPA.
Strengthening its presence in the international market GRASYS is currently one of the largest and most reputable companies in the field of gas separation. GRASYS is also one of the world leading manufacturers of membrane and adsorption plants for nitrogen and oxygen production, hydrogen concentration, gas mixtures control etc.
