OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2009. According to it, if in the first quarter, sales in the mobile telephony sector have decreased by 3,17% as compared with the same period of the last year , in the second quarter, this figure grew by 2,97%.

In the first half of 2009, total sales’ volume in the mobile telephony market of Moldova, as compared to the same period of the last year, has slightly grown by 0.1% and made 1 billion 377,1 million leis. As compared to the first quarter, average monthly revenue per user (ARPU) in this sector has increased by 15.68%- up to 95.94 leis.

The highest ARPU at the mobile telephony market totaling 104.93 leis was registered by SC "Orange - Moldova". In the II quarter, the number of the mobile telephony clients as compared with the first quarter has increased by 3.77%-up to 2 million 672.7 thousand. The largest number of the clients is registered at “Orange-Moldova” - 1 million 766.4 thousand. Currently, the mobile telephony market of Moldova includes four operators: SC "Orange - Moldova", SC "Moldcell", SC "Moldtelecom" under the trademark "Unite" and "Eventis Mobile" SRL. The highest market share - 73.5% belongs to SC "Orange - Moldova".
