OREANDA-NEWS. Supported by AB.LV Sabiedriska Labuma Fonds, the Latvian contemporary photo art exhibition “Private” will be held at “ARSENALS” exhibition hall of the Latvian National Museum of Art (1 Torna Street) from 20 August till 18 October this year, reported the press-centre of AB.LV.

The exhibition theme is conveyed by its title — it presents artists’ reflections on privacy and private property, expressed by means of modern artistic techniques and technologies. There will be works of seven Latvian photo artists exhibited, those works being created using classic black-and-white photography, gelatin-silver process, photographs from colour negatives, digitally processed photo images, and video. At the heart of the professional artistic photography, there is not only interesting idea and creative search, but also original approach to using various technologies. These will be demonstrated at “Private” exhibition by both new generation artists — Arnis Balcus, Romans Korovins, Alnis Stakle, and experienced photographers — Gunars Binde, Zenta Dzividzinska, Inta Ruka, Vilnis Vitolins.

Artistic photography has a special place in the Aizkraukles Banka Contemporary Art Collection. The collection already includes 10 photographs from “My Rural People” series by Inta Ruka and 20 photographs by prominent Lithuanian photographer Antanas Sutkus.
