OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2009. The Estonian Hotel and Restaurant Association’s (EHRA) official starhotels commission has performed a review of Padaste Manor. The commission awarded Padaste Manor with five stars. Padaste Manor is now the first five-star-hotel hotel in Estonia outside of Tallinn. A festive certification ceremony took place in the Manor’s gourmet restaurant Alexander.

Martin Breuer, General Manager of Padaste Manor today said that the five-star certification is a great recognition for the efforts of Padaste’s team to provide outstanding hospitality services.

According to Breuer: “The status of a starhotel is a guarantee for the level of service and quality in the Hotel. It’s important that a selected hotel meets, or even better exceeds a travellers  expectation. We provide quality services with a high emotional value and we are very pleased by EHRA’s decision to give us the five-star certification,” added Breuer.

Chairman of the Board of EHRA’s commission Anne Samlik said that the commission has found Padaste Manor to meet the requirements of a five-star luxury hotel. “Padaste has shown an ability to provide high-quality services consistently throughout its 13 years of existence,” she added.

Nordic and Baltic countries have a unified star system ranging from one to five stars, meaning that minimum requirements for all star hotels of a certain level are the same. Unified standards include demands on the buildings of hotels, services provided and level of comfort, depending on the star level. In Estonia, EHRA’s starhotel commission made up of seven members manages the star system. The star certification is valid for three years.

Overall there are 32 star hotels in Estonia, only four of which have been deemed worthy of five stars.
