OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 August 2009 was announced, that Vladimir Resin, acting Moscow Mayor, officially opened a new sports and fitness centre in Zelenograd’s administrative district of the Russian capital.

“I am glad to congratulate you on behalf of Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov on obtaining one more structure essential for people of any age. I am happy about this sports and fitness centre is located near the dwelling houses in the one of the best parts of Moscow,” the official told residents of Zelenograd at the opening ceremony on August 21.

Mr Resin handed over a symbolic key to the new recreation object to its director, Aleksey Torovikov.

The prefect of Zelenograd, Anatoly Smirnov, added that the new sports and fitness centre had become the fourth one built within the urban program aimed at developing sports facilities within reasonable walking distance over the past 3 years.

According to Mr Smirnov, the fifth one is soon to be commissioned in neighbourhood 4. Besides, there are sites intended for another 2 complexes, each designed to be equipped with a swimming pool, in Zelenograd.
