On 21 August 2009 was announced, that the privatization of Ukrtelecom (UTLM), Ukraine's state-owned monopoly fixed-line telephone operator, is unlikely in 2009, Acting Head of the State Property Fund Dmitry Parfenenko said yesterday. Parfenenko said that the country is still working to improve the attractiveness of the company to investors and that privatization could take place next year, at the earliest.
