OREANDA-NEWS. On August 20, 2009 The Permanent Representative of IMF in Moldova Johan Mathisen said that IMF mission will arrive to Chisinau providing that there is a partner to negotiate on a new program, able to implement it.

In other words, an IMF mission will arrive to Moldova when it will have government that would be ready to negotiate on signing a new cooperation program with IMF. The arrival of the mission could be expected in several weeks or months.

"We announced the Government and the coalition partners that are ready to negotiate on providing financial assistance to Moldova. The main condition is the existence of a partner to negotiate with. We can arrive quickly, but must await the outcome of this political exercise, "said Mathisen. He stressed that IMF is a non political institution, an organization that provides advice, technical and financial assistance to the Member States of IMF. As Moldova is a member of IMF, and has access to IMF resources, organization will cooperate with any government that comes to power in Moldova.
