OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2009. The Environment Protection Department of the Ministry of Environment & Natural Resources of Azerbaijan keeps on research to establish observation of environmental legislation requirements.

The Ministry informs that from 10 to 16 August 2009, in the course of surveys it was drawn up 11 reports and protocols in connection with environmental law breaches by legal entities and individuals.

“Fines on 14 cases were imposed in the amount of AZN 35,200, with out of them AZN 343,420 was paid,” it was said in the report.

For damage caused to environment 4 reports and protocols were drawn up during a week. Fines at AZN 27,800 on seven cases were imposed.

2 cases on land protection made up AZN 8,000 with out of them AZN 343,420 was paid.

Fines for 2 cases over violations in water reserves totaled AZN 2,500.

Let’s remind, the Ministry carries out such monitoring weekly.

For the period from 20 to 27 July 2009 penalties for eco-law breakers totaled AZN 34,500, from 27 to 31 July – AZN 1,800 AZN and from3 to9 August – AZN 11,000.
