Electric Power of Kansk CHP Increased by 12 MWt
OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2009. New power of the Kansk CHP has been estimated by the System Operator of the United Energy System. JSC “SO UES” confirmed the amount of power announced by JSC “Yenisei TGC (TGC-13)” as a participant of electric power and capacity wholesale market at “ATS” Non-Commercial Partnership, reported the press-centre of TGC-13.
Beginning with 1 August 2009, certified electric power of the Kansk CHP is 24 MWt taking into account new 12 MWt introduced power. Necessary documents on payment for the supplied power by the participant of the electric power and capacity wholesale market has been delivered to “ATS” Non-Commercial Partnership by the System Operator.
Certification of power has been carried out by the System Operator on the base of the documents prepared for by Yenisei TGC as a result of complex testing of the new turbine unit No.2 at the Kansk CHP. During the testing, technical characteristics of the R-12-3.4/0.5M turbine unit and TPS-12-2-EU3 generator as well as operation of main and additional equipment has been tested. The main aim of complex testing is determination of nominal loading of the new turbine unit. The turbine unit No.2 at the Kansk CHP has successfully passed the testing.
To remind, technical re-equipment of the Kansk CHP is a priority project of the investment program of JSC “Yenisei TGC (TGC-13)”. The aim of the project is increase in quality, reliability of heat and electric power supply of consumers as well as increase in quality and reliability of generation of heat and electric power by the CHP. Installation of the new turbine unit with 12 mWt power and 78 Gcal/h heat power will allow for increase of electric and heat power generation which will improve reliability of electric power supply of consumers. Annual generation of electric power by the Kansk CHP will rise by 2.6 mWt-h million. In addition, realization of the investment project is aimed at increase of effectiveness in use of heat and electric power.
Putting into operation of the new turbine unit at the same time with finishing of reconstruction of a boiler heating unit at the CHP will play an important social role for Kansk city. It will allow for closing of oil-fired boiler house at Solnechny military town and changing over to more economy and environmentally friendly heat power supply of consumers from the CHP during the coming heating season.
Putting of the turbine unit into permanent operation is planned to be carried out at the time of the beginning of the heating season in September 2009.
