OREANDA-NEWS. On August 18, 2009 The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has withdrawn general licence for conducting operations in foreign currency from two commercial banks.

In line with Articles 40 and 53 of the Law "On the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and due to violation of the banking legislation on currency regulation, Uktambank open joint-stock commercial bank and Turkiston private open joint-stock investment commercial bank have been deprived of their rights to carry out operations in foreign currency.
