Turkmen Specialists Share Experience with RWE Dea AG

At the invitation of the well-known German company RWE Dea AG a delegation of the leading specialists of the national oil and gas ministries and departments visited Germany and Czechia to study the experience of the German partners. The study tour was a step taken to ensure implementation of the bilateral agreements in the framework of the Memorandum of Long-Term Cooperation concluded between the Government of Turkmenistan and one of the largest consortiums of Germany this April, reported the Official website turkmenistan.gov.tm.
As is known, clearly setting forth the priorities of long-term mutually advantageous cooperation this important document provides for close collaboration in the fuel and energy sector on a variety of aspects. The German company – one of the leading companies specialized in producing electric power and selling gas in Europe undertakes to provide overall assistance in training Turkmen specialists, conducting exploration work, building gas transportation infrastructure and carrying out research on the ways to transit Turkmen gas to international markets that is of particular importance for the Turkmen leader’s initiative to diversify energy exports.
The Turkmen leader emphasizes that establishing business contacts with the European and German companies in particular is a priority of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy strategy that is conditioned by their profound scientific and industrial potential as well as exceptionally responsible approach to partner obligations.
That is illustrated by the study tour of the Turkmen specialists who visited the hub office and enterprises of RWE Dea AG located in the territories of the FRG and the Czech Republic during a month and a half.
The programme included the visits to the atomic power plant of various types, Emsland hydraulic power complex, Kyphenwerk pumped-storage generating unit, etc. The participants noted that they had learned much about the units generating electric power from agricultural waste and facilities using the alternative sources of energy, in particular solar and wind energy that were of special scientific interest in Turkmenistan today.
The visits of the facilities of the RWE Dea AGcompany, offshore structures and plant preparing oil extracted in Mittelplate – Germany’s largest oil field in the North Sea operated by RWE Dea AG for selling and refining were of special interest.
As is known, offshore hydrocarbon extraction is a key provision of the Production Sharing Agreement signed between the State Agency for Hydrocarbon Resource Use and Management under President of Turkmenistan and RWE Dea AG. Under the Agreement the German Company received the license to explore oil and gas in the contract territory – offshore block 23 in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.
